Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective is a professional dance company that creates and supports multigenerational cultural arts and educational initiatives.
Nia is Swahili for Purpose. We intend to create with purpose. We hold sacred the knowledge and practices bestowed upon us by our fore-mothers, so we will forever give reverence and honor that we are their daughters. Movement possesses a duality- movement in the physical embodiment, and movement in terms of progress and social action. We are a collective because I value the experience that all artists bring in from other spaces they lend their minds, bodies, and souls.
